They are rare from pk drops. I'm pretty sure that KBD drops them, he did before recent updates. To get them from PK I'd ball park it and say 1/75-150 kills depending on what you have. To get them from KBD I'd say 1/5 kills, but you must use an Anti-dragonfire shield, Dragonfire shield, or Protect from Magic. No, they are not 'Null' in the new client, I have a few pairs and they still look the same.
